All,

I am on my way for creating my first DIY 3WAY FS with Peerless India drivers. The process of build had been initiated from last week Nov/12. Purchased the drivers from Mumbai and rest materials been procured from our own diyaudiocart. Thanks to Bibin for helping me in all the way throughout the process of acquiring the drivers to selecting each and every components/items required for the FS project.

I went with 24mm MDF (Bajaj Make) with double baffle on front side. The height of the towers is 48" without the base stand. Width is 13.1" and depth is 16.1". Seems to be in process of making a monster.

The drivers are as follow

Woofer
Peerless - 10" Paper Cone Woofer - SB25NP

Mid
Peerless - 5.25" Coated Paper Cone Woofer - M13NH

Tweeter
Peerless - 25mm Silk DomeTweeter - TL25SN

And for the X-over I am going ahead with 2nd-Order Constant Power (CPC) which I had created using x-over pro 6. But still am on look out for the polypropylene capacitors. Still wondering whether I will be able to get it. Even with element14 seems very difficult. But with parts-express everything is available.

So coming to the cut off frequency, after going through all the blogs and expert advice I have concluded as 250 for Low and 3000 for High. If anybody differs on this please let me know. Also ordered the ready available x-over from diyaudiocart.

Will be buying the foam today evening or tomorrow, got the polyfill from one pillow maker who has the polyfill (believe so) used to make the recron pillows.
The hardest part for this project which I faced and still facing is the Carpenter punctuality and the deliver speed of DTDC, which is preferred buy most of the vendors, online suppliers :)

All the shipment reached Pune within stipulated timings and from Pune to Pimpri and to my place it took from 6 to 10 days for deliver..
on the enclosure front, I had received the deliver from carpenter today and the condition is work still in progress. The front flush mount cutting, I had advised to do it at my place only so maybe he will be turning up on xyz date.

Started to work on testing the drivers and x-over. Photo's uploaded on dropbox dont know the reason why its not showing up here..

Looking good!by the way,how much did the cabinets cost to make?i mean total cost for ALL materials required and cost of getting it cut and assembled?

I am still playing around with the damping material to find the perfect sound. On the carpentry aspect I brought the entire hardware like Routers etc for this purpose bcs majority of carpenter was not ready to take up this project.

All Plz Suggest - While playing the manja song from kai po che, I could hear a huge ups and downs in sound while playing with foobar + plugin (Crossover & equalisor). Does anyone else noted or is that any problem with my setup or the DIY FS?

Jmascreen,
I have played that song on foobar, and did not notice any ups and down, dont use crossover and eq, and try, it may be due to the mix of xo.

Looking good Jmascreen...

What is the finish you are planning to apply?

Post more images...when you find time...

Thanks all for the comments

Will go with finishing same as my furniture. Mostly veneer in black color.
Will try removing the plugins & with vlc etc.

Removed the Xover plugin and the sound seems to be settled. Just for my understanding what is the problem it should. This same plugin and other were working with my Onkyo setup :)

asking just for curiocity...

how is the corrson audio kit for diy speakers...
Corrson - India's only DIY Store for Hi-End Audio

are they worth of the price...
thanks

@Prosenjit... I sent a mail to corrson last week for ordering drivers. I think they've closed down their business . I read about this in a different HFV thread as well. I just don't have the link handy with me right now.

Off the late I do hear some shout from mid range? what could be the reason behind it. Also I feel my physical time alignment is not working. I will it be a issue with drivers/Xover or the damping + stuffing etc?..

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
