Corrson is the online shop of Siva of Acoustic Portrait.
The brand was originally conceived as a high quality supplier of DIY parts.
It's good to see them back in the mix with this MTM speaker.

From their mailer:

Friends,

We are pleased to announce plans to launch a new model of loudspeaker after a gap of almost 10 years.
We have spent about one year in developing this model , which will be known as Corrson MS-610.

Please contact us @ [email protected] for more information.

update on this, just called corrson, the cost of these monitors is 1.38 lakhs + VAT + shipping. That is one expensive speaker set :D

Got the same mailer.
It's wonderful to see Siva bring out a new product. I am sure it will hold up against much more expensive imported speakers.
This is the same speaker that aurobindosaha has fallen in love with :).
Any news on the DAC that has been hinted at recently?

Would love to read a few reviews/impressions. I need to buy a pair of speakers.. But 140k will be quite a bit of a stretch.

Spoke to Siva about these speakers and here is some info:

Drivers are all Scanspeak units.
Crossover has also been updated.
Cabinets are walnut veneer with very heavy bracing.
Very high quality finish on these speakers.

Siva had to batch order several cabinets so pricing is very fair for this quality.
A significant chunk of the costing has gone into the cabinet.
As always proof of the pudding is in the listening so will wait for that.

It's good to see Corrson back in the swing of things.
Some more product launches are due in Sep/Oct so stay tuned.

Hi

Glad to see the speakers MS-610 got launched commercially. I purchase it recently and very very satisfied with the result.

I see both the following websites are offline
Acoustic Portrait
Corrson - India's only DIY Store for Hi-End Audio

... Which makes me think they are updating their online portal with new sets of products.
Yes the other post (love story) is by no means a technical review. I am not qualified to do so, but I shared my experience. I am listening to these speakers 2 to 3 hours daily since last 10 days, and I find it so very melodious even when I do I use a DAC. I am yet to purchase a DAC, adding which I think the sound will be more melodious.

Thanks
Auro

for some - the cost may not be too much if it can sing..:)

lets not make this into a price fest here - infact - it would be nice to have some tech info or listening impressions here.

regards

No. That was not my intention at all. I think one would need to listen to speakers before purchasing them and would not like to buy them off the shelf specially if they're going to cost 1.4lakhs.

I would love to buy corrson monitors or a cheaper tower, but I live in Delhi so kind of impossible to listen to it. :)

Excellent finish and well spaced drivers.

Totally agreed with mpw on the price part. It will be nice if there are any objective measurements for this speaker. At this price point there should be some measured results published to narrow down on the speaker before subjective listening. I am looking for FR, Z, step response, CSD, Impulse response. I am sure if they have taken one year to design the speakers they should have measured these basic parameters before releasing the speakers.

Good to see this. Can anyone shed some light on the specs. What is the model numbers of the drivers? Efficiency, Impedance, power rating, etc.

Are they coming up with Kits and components for DIYer's?
Seems all options/links are pointing to index page, more updates should be coming?

I don't think the products are going to be DIY kits.
All products are going to be finished items as of now.

As others have mentioned the next product to be announced will likely be the DAC. Don't think any of that will be in the firm of DIY kits.
