There are some of you on this forum who know what I've got. Those I would request to keep things under wraps till someone guesses this one. I have nowhere near the riddling skills of the Riddler aka stevieboy (as a matter of fact, as you will see below, I have no riddling skills whatsoever). But let me give this a stab.
----

I've got new speakers to replace the Ushers. They're absolutely lovely :) Ther's a bit of Norway, Canada and Taiwan in them (not in any particular order). There's some German distant family also, that's worth mentioning.

These speakers have actually been mentioned once, and only once on these forums.

Any guesses?

@vinod - Axiom has Canada, but norway and taiwan? (and germany?)

@gruby - yeah man, i listened to an SACD of ella fitzgerald and louis armstrong through those speakers powered by the topping and felt my hairs stand on end. it's a magic little speaker. And then I thought to myself, 'now if Spain wins the world cup' this may well be the best day of my life :)

Oh yeah! Ella and Louis is an awesome pair! Damn dude, I really wanted an Oranje victory but except Robben and Snejder, for a few random moments, the Spaniards were dictating the pace through out. That said, Robben deserved atleast one last night. Ok, I'll stop now before the OT militia heads this way...:argue:

P.S: I really wish I could get some time off and listen to your rig...

Ok, let me take a crazy guess, i might be miserably wrong.

Canadian brand, Norway driver, Built in Taiwan, high efficiency over 90db works well to work well with T amps.

Paradigm, Paradigm Atom bookshelf to be specific.

or the new Micro Monitor from paradigm. But psycho mentions about $600. The paradigm atoms retail for much less than that. Besides there is no Taiwanese connection i understand.. Paradigm speakers are made in canada.

@mpw - yes, more clues to come :)

@captrajesh - nope not KEF

@cooltoad - it's a bookshelf, not much larger than the Ushers

@rajapraveen - nope not paradigm. the paradigm atom monitor was one of the speakers I rejected in favour of the Ushers.

more clues:

the speakers have 5/5 on audioreview.com (but from very few reviews).

and.......i may be the only person in India to own these speakers (and likely to remain so) through authorised distribution channels (self import not included).

haha looks like its catching eh? :D

does it have zebra brown stripes?

green mountain?

athena?

psycho..

personal tastes differ and therefore "rejection " is a heavy word to use. The Paradigm Atom Monitors are excellent speakers in their own right. Have Heard them extensively and can say this with conviction ( damn the 5 star ratings )...

mpw

hey mpw. rejection is a value-neutral word when it comes to choices that you make while purchasing something. If I choose to buy surf excel i reject Tide as an option. That doesn't mean that people who own Tide ought to feel upset. It's a perfectly good detergent.

Similarly, I like the Paradigm Atom. But I far preferred the Usher S520, and therefore i rejected them (along with several other speakers that I listened to) in favour of the Ushers. Like you said, it's a matter of personal preference, and completely subjective....but the fact remains that any choice involves rejection :) and that's not an insult or an affront!

And no, not athena, not green mountain, not totem.

One more clue. This company is known just as well, if not better for its amplifiers.

not the Dynaudio. But interestingly the one professional review that is available on the internet, for these speakers, compares it to a Dynaudio Audience 42. (the results of the comparison you can read if you're interested once the identity of the speakers is out).

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
