Vinyl and turntable lovers will probably turn in their armchairs (or graves). But I just came across this and found the concept interesting. See it here:
Crosley Radio

Has anyone else come across similar things in the past? And is Crosley a respected brand in the turntable world? I don't somehow see the practical use for this though: you carry it around...along with a stack of vinyl that is probably heavier and more unwieldy that the turntable itself?

My dad had a philips or an HMV player like this one... (dont exactly remember which though)... It was a tiny briefcase, which would open out the centre being the platter. and tinny, tiny speakers nicely packed in!

this crosley seems to be a modern day thingee! Interesting, though!

Hemant,
Thanks for the links. I did not know this technology was that old. But I guess turntables have been around for a long time. So this idea was inevitable.
