Hi
Recently I bought Onkyo compact system (CR185X) with main unit only. This model is claimed as high quality compact system. CD player is not working. I tried to open it but looking as complexity inside, I thought of using only tuner and amplifier. Later I realized that storing FM stations in memory is not working and many main amp settings i.e. bass, treble, source direct etc. can be managed by remote control only and I don't have remote. Overall sound quality is very good and too low distortion.
I need help on below points:
- Anyone have this model and know how to overcome these issues?
- AVR Remote from Onkyo are available, would they match this model? I also saw Onkyo remote app, but those not working for this model
- There is one 3 mm socket behind the unit, with labelled as remote. Don't know what is function of that.
- Somehow I managed to locate seller from Chennai, selling remote for 900/- but not sure if that would work. I cant even try out as I am in Hyderabad.
