Hello Jasjit

You can find services from
AV ZONE
L-4, Chitranjan park New Delhi contact number 011-46016115, contact person Sanjeev Arora (981176789) he is actually distributor for Onkyo in North but provide services for Optima Projector also.

I finally bought Onkyo 5700, Onkyo Blueray, APC UPS from him yesterday. good guy, you can give my reference.

I will be uploading pictures tonight :)

hope that help.

cheers

Happy that your Blu Ray player worked all right. Two things work right for this projector, firstly it is 1080p and secondly it so bright. What more can one want?

Actually, there is, I sent repeated messages to Mr Senthil Kumar, India head of Optoma, regarding the whereabouts of places which could service the projector in case of problems. No help there.

Now, I am going to send emails to higher ups in the organization. I need the peace of mind that this projector can be repaired either in Chandigarh or Delhi.

Donasjit, no point of banging ur head on the wall .the guy is like this only. Earlier in my post I had mentioned that when I had a problem I contacted him but he simply revert the product purchased outside no warranty and no help . luckily after couple of mail he had replied with some contact details if u want I can share with u.or it's easy way out is there are couple of technician or projector repair guys are available in market they will help u out not to worry. As in my case the local dealer from whome I had purchased my other av equipment had helped me out in just 2-3 days. Anyway the projector purchased from outside there is no warranty.

My cousin and I both got these from amazon couple of weeks ago. Once the initial euphoria subsided, we realised that my cousin's unit has the fan kick in as soon as we power on the wall outlet even though the pj is on standby and its red power light is on.
This aint the case on mine... we made the settings identical yet no change in this behavior. Anybody else facing this?

Thank you for your post. The contact details will be most useful. The apathy from Optoma India is the price we pay for buying from abroad.

Ya, I know , that guy Senthil Kumar does not respond properly. Thats why I have recommended to contact Rony. but I think htfan has given the required information :D

I hope you have found the right guys :)

Hello aaditya buddy

I will be deciding for the screen today once I will get setup installed today, for the time being I will be projecting on wall.

the picture quality does not compromise even if you project on the wall, that's the best part of this projector, very bright :)

but on screen it totally rocks :D

Have Fun and keep posting ;)

I did not understand anything

can u explain in detail

Pj fan starts as soon as u turn on the power from wall socket and keeps running even though the pj is yet on standby mode with the red light turned on

Well on googling i found this page. If u scroll down in this, it gives all service centers of india in various cities.

::: Welcome to Optoma Asia :::

Thanks for this but I don't know how reliable it is. I went to the website of the firm mentioned in the list, F1 Infosolutions which is supposed to do the servicing but I could find no mention of projectors. I think they are a multi brand service provider, they do service Acer products, so maybe they do Optoma projectors too, after all the electronics inside a projector is hardly rocket science.

I can confirm now that F1 Infosolutions is indeed the service provider in India for Optoma, as is mentioned in the Optoma website.

I spoke on the phone to an executive of this firm and he confirmed it. We will have to pay through the nose for the services(filter cleaning costs 2000 Rs) and you need to bring the projector to them.

But at least we know that in a worst scenario, when repairs are needed, it will be done.

Just to add

I bought 16 3D Blu-rays on Amazon and Flipkart, it was a fantastic deal. I got all good movies.

including Band of Brothers normal Blu-ray.

I must check them all now :D

Check my Home Theater Build thread for pics :D. I will upload the pics of all the blu-rays that I bought yesterday, when I receive them :D

Happy viewing ;)
