Optoma HD141x HD / Full 3D

Hi Pranjan, Congratulations for this purchase. Great, you got little better deal than me. Bet, this beast will not disappoint you.
On voltage part: I have been using with 110v as my set-up has a provision ( 0.5 KVA step-down transformer to support AV receiver, CD changer, VCR and now this projector). Like noted by other member in previous thread, it should support 220v voltage. BTW, I have not yet tested 3D functionality.

At 23 feet you will probably get image size much more than 120 inch, for 120 inch sharp diagonal image you, as per my studies (my pj yet to be delivered), you need to place PJ at 13.5 feet from screen.

Yes, George. After following PJs features and trends for almost six months, decided to take a plunge and get this product. Initially, I had decided to play a safe bet to go for Epson. However, the Kida of taking risk, forced to go with this PJ (and to order from Amazon). Glad that worked :-) I am a regular visitor to this forum (as a passive reader) to gain some experiences and knowledge from active members. Guess, it was my turn for community time to share a little experience here. Hoping that the newly ordered PJ members would be happy with this PJ. Cheers, Sanjeev

Just received the product sent by New Egg, USA. A few things I want to share with guys planning to book in future:

1. The packaging of the product is extremely poor. Just a carton box on the top of the main Optoma box, no bubble sheet between the boxes. There is a bubble sheet in the original Optima box, of course. (I guess it was because their cargo handling is extremely well, not as pathetic as ours)

2. The main box is NOT sealed pack, the seal has been broken (I guess it was required for custom clearance and all)

3. There is nowhere Serial No. of the product mentioned anywhere in the invoice, neither in soft copy invoice nor in commercial invoice pasted on the shipment. (I fail to understand this).

4. The power cable supplied does not seem to fit into Indian power sockets directly, the pins are closely spaced (or may be I am wrong).

Out of the box, everything seems alright, intact and genuine. The product is Made in China.

I am yet to test the product at home.

Sanjeev, can you please comment on things mentioned above since you have already got a similar shipment through Amazon.

I also got my projector in the same package, though from newegg. I think that packaging is enough, as there is a bubble wrapping inside the original packaging. But more the merrier and makes us believe its more safer. :)

You may need to get the adapter for the power cable. Better is to get a picture of the power plug and show it to the shop guy. He will give the correct one. Mine is also same.

Outer Packaging will be opened for customs checkings (this was already communicated to me when i had a chat with the newegg guy).

I dont think invoice will be printed in the shipping.

Is this adaptor easily available in electric shops?

Moreover, I said nowhere Sr. No of the product is mentioned on the invoice. In case someone needs warranty repair even in the US, how will they match the product with the invoice provided? All the barcodes are on the box, none on the product.

Congrats Pranjan, Here are comments in line for your queries:

1) Packaging: I too shared the same concern (that I had noted in my opening post - last two lines)
2)Box Seal: In my case, main box was sealed. Though, I was hoping that it would be broken for inspection at customs. Only outer carton was opened.
3)Invoice part: Same like you. (no listing of sr. no). A small Amzon invoice was attached. I have taken a printout from my Amazon account (as a receipt).
4)Power Cord: In my set-up, I had a provision to accommodate US power connector. So, it was not an issue.

Let us know your projection experience.

after so many attempt from my own Debit card, a friend`s DC worked,

so i ordered mine today, :)

hope will get it intact and sealed pack.

onething for everyone who got: amazon stated that they charging customs on ur behalf, if it will be less, one shud inform with proper recieving and saved customs will get refunded
how much u ppl were charged , any idea ?
did u ask for receipt?

Where Manufactured: I will check it when I reach home. However, I am not that concerned as long as the product is genuine. (Many lead brands leverages Manufacturing facilities in China Even Apple iPhones have been designed in USA and manufactured in Asia (other than Japan)). I have been using those brands: Apple , Panasonic,..etc. So far, I have not faced any quality issues.

Yes the adaptor is easily available. You only need to show them the connector pin pic.

Almost every thing is now manufactured in china nowadays.

In fact most of my equipments brought from US or Europe have the different pins, so instead of getting a adapter plug I invested the amount on replacing my wall power sockets itself to "Roma" universal ones. They are pretty good and around Rs.150 I hope if I remember correctly. You can do that as well provided its your own house ;)
