Hi,

Currently I am using Yamaha RX-V681 AVR with Bose Acoustimass 10 & 5 for 7 channel setup with ZIdoo X10 media player. Now I want to get the atmos effect. What overhead/up-firing speakers should I go for that will perfectly match with my exiting setup?

Do not go for up firing speakers. Best is to install two on the ceiling above your head. If you have a false ceiling you can install ceiling speakers which starts with 10k a pair and goes up based on brand and specs. If no false ceiling you can make a custom wooden box and have them installed. Next option is the height channel speakers that come with the mounting kits to install on the concrete ceiling such as the svs prime elevation,Torvin and sonus. If you want atmos you can set up only 5.1.2 with your receiver but also can switch in between 7.1 and a 5.1.2

It is to be installed in concrete ceiling.
Atmos audio that comes with BluRays have 8 channels, so 5.1.2 is sufficient for that or 7.1.2 would be better with 2 overhead active speakers?

Your av receiver wont support 7.1.2. To get the best atmos effects 4 overhead speakers is recommended by dolby but Two overhead speakers placed correctly will also be good enough.

Atmos audio comes with 7.1 channels AND up to 16 audio objects (sounds that are assigned locations in 3D space rather than mixed into channels). A 5.1.2 speaker set-up will let you hear left-vs-right movement in the surround field and height layer, but not any front-vs-back movement in those areas. So, not sufficient to hear the Atmos mix fully. But if that's all you have, it will work.

You get best Atmos experience with ceiling speaker installation. Some options are below which are budget friendly.
  1. Stone Water CS-6PP
  2. Polk RC60i
  3. Polk RC80i
  4. Taga Harmony In-Ceiling speakers (There are about 20 models available)
If it is not practically possible for in-ceiling, you could consider front height channels. The following brands support front heights which gives 90% of Atmos experience.
  1. Polk OWM3sell
  2. Sonodyne Sonus 3540
  3. Torvin APT center
  4. SVS Prime Elevation (Its over priced in India, if you have any contacts at overseas, you could get it half of Indian price)
  5. SVS Prime Satellites (Same as the above. This has to be tilted 45' with wall mount brackets available from online sellers)
  6. For that matter even a pair of jewel cube from Bose itself will be fantastic with 45' tilted installation
