Finally, got the sub woofer and the setup done.
Used a 3 mtr shielded cable with gold plated interconnects, which came along with the sub from ProFx. The cable looks and feels good and its free.
My initial setup gave me what I wanted and would be doing some more tweaks if my ear can hear any difference. I have cancelled the crossover setting on the sub, as the receiver will handle it at 80Hz. The phase is set at 0, couldn't hear any difference in other settings so put it at default. The remote of the sub has 4 room optimizer pre-setting buttons, I've set it up at corner, as the sub is at almost the corner of my room.
The volume is set at default ie., 20 (0-40). It has a volume up/down button behind the sub as well as on the remote. Each button press to change the volume blinks the front LED to a specified combination, ex. vol at 25 (2 long blinks + 5 short blinks). Though, I felt that the volume at mid level ie., 20 was less and the bass punch was missing and I had to increase the overall volume to get more bass. So, I gradually increased the sub volume by 2 steps and heard the same music for sometime and finally set it up at 30, which sounded apt.
Overall, the sub is good and the bass tight, but I feel it needs a little more improvement.
Could you suggest some good English music albums, which has good soundstage with thumping bass. I would love to own them.
I tested the bass with Chemical Brothers's - Surrender - Under the Influence, it has a hell lot of low freq and it sounded good.
I even have the DTS Music Demo Vol 11 and playing Dave Stewart's - Every Single Night is amazing. Infact this was the same music being played at the demo room in ProFx.
