Speculation is they are made in china unlike the v6 are made in north america(canada).

is it true?

Yep, that is true. In fact now that is one of the points that dealers are playing up to avoid giving further discounts on v6  However, I am not sure what is actually sourced from China for the speaker... such as, are drivers still manufactured in CA and assembled in China?

Paradigm communicated to me on FB sometime back in response to my Made in China concerns. The new Monitors are all made in China to Canadian design and QC. They assured the sound quiality is excellent.

Please download the new monitor series brochure and it is evident that there has been a LOT of re-design.

when a manufacturer makes a move to reduce costs...it does not come without giving away something! Its economics.
And dont ever expect the manufacturer to agree that the quality is compromised, he is obviously gonna say it is at its best like before! Something's gotta give, its as simple as that...only question is what!

...and you are right that you hear what you want to hear. And you heard that it is not compromised :)

well shaQ..

weather they sound good to your pre-judged senses.. is for you to judge. I just put up what i got from the manufacturer.

maybe we wait for a few HFV guys to listen to the new product and then judge.

some folks will like it some folks may not. But just be cause its made in china.. it cant be bad for that reason alone.

I encourage you to download the new monitor series brochure and check out the tech changes made.

dont jump the gun.. and eat crow later..

we will look forward to your audition experience as and when it happens.

You heard it is now bad...while no one said bad....i said compromised somewhere!

I dont thing you get the point...you might want to read my previous post again

What does compromise mean to you then ? To me it means deterioration in quality or reduction in VFM. As of now there is no data or experience to assume it is so. ( compromise )

Any detrioration in quality ( or compromise ) should bear out in the performance of the speaker no ?

So its better we dont berate or smirk at what the manufacturer says.

If you like it .. good.. if you dont.. move on..

This thread is meandering and going nowhere. Maybe its a good idea for the mods to close this thread.

Well guys.. I must be one of the first amongst the forum to face the dilemma of whether to go for the new series or stick to the older one. I got the brochures of the new series along with older one about ten days back. What I found was a significant reduction in weight and size, and incase of monitor 7, reduction in no of drivers. Theoritically speaking, the new series is a different species alrogather. I heard that monitor 9 is a good improvement over older series counterpart (or should we say a better new product rather than an upgrade over older one) . I also got the info that he new series is made in china. I took the safer path and stuck to the one I originally liked. No regrets. Didn't want to go for a DIFFERENT PRODUCT.

As far as comparision matters go, I think it's only as fair as comparing a KEF with DALI or WHARFEDALE

Hello all, I just joined this form and wanted to share my experience with paradym speakers. I have owned my monitor 11v6 and monitor 9v6 for over a year now and couldn't be happier with the sound they produce. As like most people it took time to build my system due to costs, but where I purchased my speakers, I auditioned the new monitor line, and sad to say was very disappointed with the sound they produced. I would say let your ears make the decision. It really seems to me that V6 produces a much cleaner richer detailed sound, and I play everything flat. Unlike most stereo-files I listen to my music in five channel. Best to all searching for great sound..
