Guys,

Anyone running Parasound HCA 2200II power amp.

Please let me know if I can audition in mumbai. This seems to be an old amp 250W.

Its a super amp. In case you are not able to audition it and are getting a good deal, you can buy it blind. It is designed by John Curl and if i remember correctly it runs Class A for the first few watts.

In Parasound, look for John Curl designs only. The one on sale in Bangalore is the Classic 275. Not a John Curl design

Prem - yes. This does 250W at 8 ohm and weighs 26kg.

Cannot audition. Location is too far away.

The amp was discontinued in 1997 and this is a 220V version.

What say guys ... 90 Amps peak intermittent current ?? Crazy na ??

I had an opportunity to have para sound HALO series A21 power amp for three four days. I had hooked it up with audio lab 6000 per and with axiom signature passive per. With both the pre it sounded elaborate and had immense power and head room. In fact we can connect this directly with out a pre as this has got level control.

Only set back was I wasn't having any high end pre for me to fully ascertain ts full potential.

just downloaded the specs from the net..

dont know if i am ready for it.. the thing has an enormous power supply and i am not getting any data as yet on the amplifier gain to determine if my passive pre amp will work with this.

The huge transformer also means that i may have to re-look at my wiring and stuff at home..the "hum" from the amp.. the possible interferences..

hummm...hmmmm
