Hi everyone,

I’m building a dedicated movie room in India (14x16ft) and need advice on choosing a "Cinema First" 4K projector. I’ve used AI to create a summary of the current market prices and specs, but I need real-world feedback from the videophiles here.

My Setup:

  • Room Size: 14ft x 16ft.
  • Usable wall size for screen 11ft 2 inch
  • Throw Distance: 16 feet (Back wall mounted).
  • Screen: 150-inch pull down manual.
  • Usage: 100% Movies (NO gaming).
  • Source: Playing 50GB–80GB 4K MKV Remux files via VU QLED 65 inch TV
  • TV - 65QMP (Masterpiece Glo Series)
  • Audio: Yamaha RX-V3072 AV Receiver (HDMI Passthrough).

My Specific Questions:

  1. Lens Quality at 16ft: With 80GB MKV files, I don't want the projector glass to be the bottleneck. At a 16ft throw, which of these maintains the best focus across a 150" area?
  2. Dust & Heat (India): Are the Laser units (BenQ/ViewSonic) truly sealed against dust? In my city, dust is a major issue for internal optics.
  3. AVR Handshake: Any known issues connecting these newer 4K models through an older (but high-end) Yamaha RX-V3072 for 4K/HDR signals?
  4. Alternatives: Are there any other brands in India (like Sony, Samsung, or LG) worth considering under 1.5L for a purely cinematic experience?
I'm leaning towards the BenQ TK710 because of the laser longevity and sharpness, but would love to hear from anyone with a similar 150-inch setup.
Thanks for the help!

If you stretch your budget, you can go for a new Benq 2720i (4LED) or Epson TW9400 (Lamp based). You can get them at around 1.75L-1.80L. They are really good options at this price range for a dedicated home theatre.

Im considering used ones. So suggest me which are reliable and safe to buy.

Used one i can buy upto 90k.

Native4k wont come under this budget i guess. Ive to manage with pixel shift etc

XGIMI ultra is at 1.1L...Try and get discounts and GST input credit to make it around 90K. Not sure at this price anything else comes close. Wait for next Amazon sale..even without GST input..should still hit a lakh with bank discounts.

Purchase the NEW Audiolab 6000A MkII Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
