Hi,
I have placed my Marantz AVR right next to my digital electric stabilizer due to cramped space in my cabinet. Does this cause any issues for the AVR. I have sufficient air exchange in the cabinet and just worried about other electrical effects. Any inputs?
TIA

provide good ventilation for the avr

however....a stabilizer is not good enough for an avr for the same reasons why a computer requires an ups and not a stabilizer. The avr also has a processor!

hmm - I think computer needs an ups not because it has processor but because it has hard disks that can get corrupted during write. If memory is solid state and write operations are limited only to saving settings, it may not need a UPS, unless you want to watch movies/ listen to music uninterrupted.

Only for hard drives? are you sure about it? While you are right about hard drives....In the case of a comp there are sensitive equipments like motherboard, hard drive, power supply unit... to worry about on top of the processor itself...:)

it might have worked well for a few of you in the sense a stabilizer would have seemed to have protected you well. It might have from 9 scenarios, but the 10th which occurs a bit rare, could be enough :). So for an expensive equipment like the AVR, I choose to protect it. Even this is no guarantee!!

IIRC, there are recommendations on forum for not using a UPS or an inverter for AVRs. confused.

My Denon (1611) warrantee card clearly states that it will not be valid if the AVR is used with UPS. Obviously, the company does not recommend using UPS with their AVR.
How and whether they can find out whether UPS was used or not is a different story and should not matter in this discussion.
