Plasma TV 1024 x 768 resolution confusion?
I am planning to buy a 42 inch plasma TV (Panasonic TH-P42X30D)
The native resolution on that TV is 1024 x 768. Now I know that is a 4:3 aspect ratio. The TV though is physically built in a 16:9 aspect ratio. So how does this work?
1) Does the TV have rectangular pixels instead of square?
2) What will be the effect while watching standard 4:3 TV content?
3) What will be the effect while watching DVDs which are 16:9 or wider?
4) What will be the effect while watching Full-HD (1080p or 720p) content?
4) Is it possible to buy a TV with the correct 1366 x 768 resolution? Will the pictures in both of the above cases look better in this format?
Please advise. If you're in India, which 42 inch plasma would you recommend? I don't want to bother spending extra money for 1080p resolution so I'm happy with HD-ready.
