Please Identify This Cartridge!

Hello Friends,

I replaced this particular cartridge on my TT with nothing on it apart from markings for L, R & ground connections. Didnot sound particularly bad. Please identify this cart. if possible.

No, Its a MM cartridge...off the duty from my Technics.

I showed the photos to some of my friends and we feel that it may be an old Technics EPS cartridge. Nobody could come up with a specific model number.

Thanks for the effort Shivam,

Even I looked into cartridge database and could make anything specific out of it. Even I doubt it may be the pre-fitted cart that would have come with the technics.

someone from outside this forum identified this cart. as Goldring G-820 with a Shure stylus M-75ED.

What do you guys say?

Its definitely a Goldering cart, stylus also looks Shure but don't know which one.

It is looking like E100 Cartridge. It is basic cartridge comes with ceramic stylus.
Make: "Diamond" from Calcutta.

So with the new suggestions coming in, its basically a 'cheapo' kind of cart...but probably with a good stylus?? Think its a shure as per members' suggestion..

But thanks a lot for the identification...will look out for details on the net if i find some.

Yes that could be Classic E100 magnetic.Goldring G-820 looks almost same

This looks like a Goldring G850 clone.
Given that this one lacks the "made in england" text on top, were these made in india as well ?

The Goldring 800/820/850 are induced magnetism or moving iron carts, you can spot a large round magnet in the part of the cart body that is over the stylus while the EEI classic 100 is mm. The EEI classic 100/500/700 were made in India.

oh crap, so a g 850 stylus is not going to work in it.

Any ideas on where to source a stylus for it ?

Can you post a pic. I am not able to see the pic in the first post. If you have a classic 100, do not waste money on it, soory to be harsh.

Nah I like to collect carts , bought this one just out of curiosity and wanted to hear how it sounded like.
so there is no way to make it operational? damn.

Update - it seems the right match is the Sonotone v100. Good thing i didnt waste my money on a G850 stylus!
