Hi folks,

Haven't seen too many reviews about the Polk TSi 300 floor standers so thought I'd check with you all to get your take. Planning to pair this with a Norge 1000 amp. I mostly listed to Rock and Jazz...How do these speakers compare against say the Norge TWR 125? Any other options? I prefer FS as I don;t have racks to put bookshelf speakers on.

thanks!
Boban

You can get it for 18.5 k after bargain. What is the price quoted for norge 1000?

What is your total budget for entire setup?

Yes you can get like 15% discount over the MRP of 21K. I have these babies paired with Cambridge Audio 550A.

Mind you they are not really good with bass. I mean don't even expect performance of a subwoofer. The mids are pretty decent and so are the highs.

Not sure if its with my setup, the 550A actually makes them sparkle and sometime the whole setup gets overboard with the highs. I normally tame the highs using equalizers/tone control but pverall for the money they sound real good.

You might wanna have a look at other options in the same budget as well.

As for me, I am a die hard polk audio fan and love the sound signature. Even in my car I've Polk audio DB series all over. :D

+1 to kittuji... I hav nt heard 300s but heard 100s and 200s .. not very musical...
audition other speakers fo norge... wharfedale 9/10 or QA s,,,

Thanks for the quick replies folks!
The price quoted for the Norge 1000 from Sam Bajaj is 11,500 + courier charges. I don't think there's a dealer in Bangalore, so courier it is...
Sounds like in Polk RTi is the way to go, and from other posts I've heard that the Wharfedale 9 is a good option as well. My total budget is going to be around 40-50k. I still need to hunt down a CDP...

i have Tsi400 though i have not paired it to a stereo amp. It's paired with the denon 1911 & i am happy with the quality of music & movies. As suggested, a 15% discount on the MRP is the minimum you should bargain for.

Tsi 400 has quite good bass. i haven't listened to Tsi300 though.

I suggest the RTi series over the TSi.

I have the RTi A3 paired with Pioneer A5 Stereo Amp & Nakamichi CD Player & the sound is Amazing!

What is the price of RTI 3?? and RTI-A1 center speaker???

Hi,

I got my Rti A3 for Rs18.5K & the CSI A6 Center for Rs 18K.

The RTi A1 is a bookshelf speaker, the other Centre speaker in the Rti Series is the CSi A4.

But the CSi A6 is a monster:)

Hi,

kinda late reply to your question, but i have been using the same combo for the past year..

good or bad is all relative to what you have heard before, this being my first hifi audio purchase..it worked for me...way better than anything i have heard before...

the decision to purchase the norge 1000 was very much influenced by positive views on this site, and one year later i can safely say its been an excellent decision.

regarding speakers, i was sure i wanted floorstanders, didnt want to get bookshelf speakers and then look for stands...and at that price point there are few real options.

one year down the line...the bass response seems to have improved over time...

i think combined with a good source this is a pretty good option, especially for someone buying his first amp and speaker combo

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
