This is my first movie in last 1 year, my kid is small and now we can leave him at home with my mom.

I happened to watch Ready Movie of Salman Khan in a Theater near to my home. Its M2K Rohini and is a good theater by all standards. When the movie started I felt that colors are all washed up, Image is not sharp neither bright. Sound was just okish. Nothing real to report. The movie was actually time pass and my wife liked it, It enjoyed a few good scenes.

Is it just me or after watching HD / Full HD movies at home has made me picky about this.

has any one else felt this, or this is just a one off experience with a poorly shot movie. Has any one else on Forum seen this movie.

Am planning to dump this hall and give nearest PVR another chance.

I am not sure about the Hall but even I watched Pirates 3D few days back in DT MEga Mall in Gurgaon and had the same experience.... Infact in none of the recent movies I have watched, did I find the picture quality bright enough and crisp...

3D movies are even painful... they start giving me a headache and at times I take off the poorly designed glasses and watch directly with my eyes... (I don't wear glasses)....

I find the rooms too dark... and ...err... very perfect to sleep off... I am beginning to get into this habit of dozing off in the movies...

The verdict, I prefer to share movies on HDD with my friends around and watch them in the comfort of my own house... on my 42"... much better!

I fully agree on poor audio quality at theaters. The audio systems in most multiplexes are expensive and good quality. Hall walls also have excellent damping materials so there is almost no boom caused by reverberations. However, in most cases their amplifiers are underpowered for the size of a hall. They are driven into clipping in action scenes, songs or loud shouts. That's where it goes really bad. I am ok with loud sound, but clipping is definitely a no-no.

Video quality in general is better compared to FullHD LCDs/plasmas/projectors because of higher resolution of film, complete darkness in the hall, wider color spectrum of film. Film print degrades with use, so first 1000 or so shows should be of a much better quality.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
