Post the components you are running

QUAD 33-303 Pre & Power Amplifier
Here's mine:

* Car: 2008 Suzuki Swift ZXi
* Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9887. (Plus a 20GB 4G iPod hooked up with a KCE-422i cable).
* Amp (F & R Speakers): TRU Technology STEEL S44 (4-channel)
* Amp (Subwoofer): TRU Technology STEEL S500 (Class AB Mono)
* Front Speakers: Image Dynamics XS65 2-way components.
* Rear Speakers: Image Dynamics CTX6 2-way coaxials.
* Subwoofer: Image Dynamics IDQ12 D2V2 12" Sub in a 0.75 cu.ft. eealed enclosure.
* Cables: Connection Audison power cables (2AWG & 4AWG), DB, Fuse Holder, Fuse & terminals, Connection Audison "BEST" RCA interconnects and speaker wire. Connection Audison "SONUS" subwoofer wire.
* Damping: Generic Damping sheets used liberally, AZ Audiocomp Foam in the doors, DynaXorb diffusion panels in the doors.

Very happy with the setup. There have been no equipment upgrades over the last 3 years or so. :ohyeah:

BTW that ID sub is one bloody thing..It can act as just a filler to the front/rear speakers or can doom the front/rear speakers and take control over the car rattling..hehe :)

i assume its very nicely tamed in hydras car (haven't heard hydras setup, but lot of my friends have. :))

How much can i get one ID sub for?
Also how much can i get a kicker for?
 
i think this ID sub is in the price range between 18K to 23K. Don't know the exact amount.

As for kicker no idea. BTW JL subs are also good.

Then u can look at some used items. That will give you more value than opting for entry level ones.

Actually my JL sub (12 inch) costs only 6k with the box, but its good. Actually i was thinking of the Rainbow or the Morel subs at the installation time, but after hearing this, i thought of why wasting vitamin M, when i am satisfied with this sub.
PS : please note that i am powering the sub from a mono amp and not in bridged mode.
 
Every thing in my car is entry level so far!
Except the Bostons
I don't mind as i'm more of a performance guy.I like to spend more money under the hood rather than the boot :D
So just a decent system would suffice.
But then too i want the best value for money.
P.S:Any good used woofer you know about?

I hadnt seen these.
But none in my Budget even if they are used!
And i will make up for the woofer by removing the Spare wheel :D
 
Try to bring in atleast a 5k more, so that you will have a 15K.
Else
Try using another 2 channel + an used sub.

At least buy a sub in the range of ~6k used/new and replace your sub and check. I assume there will be a lot of difference. :)
 
4 ch is a must for me.
And this would be one episode of upgradation. Will go for some more components after 6-7 months!
