Is picture quality anywhere dependent on the type of HDMI cable or not?

As long as the HDMI cable is not defective, the type should not matter-any cable should give you a comparable image.

any HDMI cable that is complaint to 1.3 for 2d /1.4 for 3d .. that is not cut/broken .. will do fine.. the actual play and quality of the HDMI generally plays a role over 10 metres in length.
