ps3 to computer monitor

hey guys...
i hav a computer monitor(view sonic 22") with no hdmi support...i want to connect a ps3 to my computer monitor
i know that this can be done using a hdmi to dvi adapter...
but can this me done using an avi to dvi convertor???

does an avi to dvi converter exist???

Does your monitor has DVI input ? Instead of Composite to VGA, get the HDMI to DVI converter. You'll love the clarity. Won't cost you more than 2-300 bucks.
