How does one seal a removable panel/passive radiator from a speaker enclosure, and make it airtight? What materials that are locally available can do this? I bought some rubber sheet from SP Road but find that it is far too thin for my needs, even doubling it doesnt work as well as I hoped. I have used self adhesive weather strip that I got from the US, but would like to know what local options are available.

TIA

Is this available in rolls and what kind of outlet? Local auto shops? I'm looking at around 12-15mm width and maybe 3-4 metres of it-that's easier to apply than getting a sheet of it.

Usually comes in large rolls. Maybe 3 or 4 feet wide. You can easily cut strips out of it with a box cutter blade. Cut the end of the strips at 45 degrees and join them for long lengths. Joining on the cabinet and not the foam itself edge to edge off the cabinet. I have seen them on the road that joins Town Hall with Minerva circle ( called J Wodeyar road I think ). Usually sold by the meter length. They are quite 'springy' and so will compress a fair bit. I would think 3 or 4 mm might be best.
You will find them in Auto shops.

My experience with used cycle tube tyre has been very good. With time it compresses well and forms an air tight seal less than an mm thick.

To start with, I think it is a hair short of an mm in cross-section.
