Hello folks.I'm new to your forum and new to the DTH world(still with cable network and considering moving to DTH).

While exploring different DVRs from the providers,I didn't get clear answers as to how many channels can one record simultaneously. So here I pose the questions to you for TATASKY,Videocon D2H and Airtel :

1. If I'm watching Channel A,can I record Channel B and Channel C simultaneously(i.e. recording two while watching a third one) in all these DTH providers? If yes, which one(s)?

2. Anybody experienced any problems while watching one channel and recording other(s)?

3. Which DVR models are most efficient in both recording and overall performance currently?

Please take some time to give me your inputs.

Thanks

1) You can watch Channel A and record Channel B. But you can't record Channel B and Channel C while watching A because these DVRs have only two tuners. When you are watching channel A, even though you are not recording it, it gets automatically recorded in the background. That's why you can pause/rewind the live channels. Once you rewind the channel, you will have the option to forward too.
If you are on channel A and recording channel B in the background, you can view the already recorded channel. That is why they call it record two while watching third because Channel A is also getting recorded automatically. When you are on a channel, you will also have the option to record it.
2) I don't think there will be any problems. If you have series recording and it happens that timing of two shows overlap, make sure that you are on one of the channels. Otherwise recording may not happen.
3) Tata Sky is the best in my view if you are going for a DVR.
