My BSNL broadband has been supporting me just OK but streaming uninterrupted has always been a challenge and also reliability(goes slow or erratic at times but mostly rebounds on its own). After few years of adjusting/compromising, now I am in the market to explore alternatives( wired or wireless) and also have a decent mobile backup option so that I can be sure of better Internet experience for entertainment & work.
1. A mobile Internet option( data card/USB) to be used as backup ( when main cxn is weak/down) and when on the road /( for my laptop and if possible for my WiFi only Nexus 7). Prefer a pre- paid option with longer validity for refill ( as usage will be on need basis)...or a post paid w monthly payment not > 1k. Expecting speeds ~ 7mbps. Another option is to add 3G to cell phone plan and tether.
2. A faster & reliable wired/wireless alternative - as mainstay. Current bw is between 1- 2mbps and comes at ~ 1k ( which includes tel landline & monthly 400 calls within NW also). Saw discussions in this forum about 10 Mbps & 15 - but not sure reliability, price & vendor.
Request suggestions/advise from members who have recently gone through this exploration ( esp. in this region). Thanks in advance.
