Repair of dome tweeter

Just posting this in case it helps anyone. This is a Diy repair of a dome tweeter in a fairly aged speaker - the drivers are custom made and hence unobtainium.

Initially I thought the tweeter coil had blown, but more careful checking revealed that the coil was actually fine. The delicate connecting wires had corroded. So the Diy was to replace these connecting wires.

You can see the old wires in the first Pic. The blue and red wires in that same pic are salvaged from my junk box. Straight forward work, but delicate and fiddly. Needs care not to crush the dome, or to damage the coil.

So next time, partly working speakers may be worth checking out before discarding them.
