Hello, I have an 1980s Philips Stereo System having 4 band radio, Audio Cassette Player and Phone/LP Player. This was lying in home town unused for 20 odd years. I got this to Gurgaon couple of months back and so far have restored MW Radio, installed a USB port to play USB, fixed tape recorder mechanics etc. Head of this is order and needs to be changed.
Recently it stopped working.. on inspection I found fuse gone.. on its replacement.. I found IC 7805 (as part of USB) kit needs to replaced.. few diodes also seems sorted.

I need a reference of a good mechanic who can help me restore this in Delhi/NCR region who can restore this system.

Thanks in advance. Also let me know of any gentleman who can mentor me in this restoration project.

Latest is in the middle where only one channel iotmerer indicates fully up..- not working. Other two were a week back - indicating working unit
Regards
Jitendra

Hi vu3cyc. Could you share details of the person who did this and a photo of the LP record player? Thanks
Sir, this was mostly and slowly fixed by self only. Was a great learning experience. There are few things.. anesthetics though, remaining yo be fixed- finding difficult to source the parts ICs

Hi..This is an imported model. This was never sold in India. The TT has a decent tone arm with an AT3600L magnetic cartridge. The stylus is easily available. Do hope you can restore it back to its original condition. Which speakers are u using and hope both channels are functional.
Am located at Noida but these old machines need specialist skills and parts ae rare..However my endeavour is to assist you any way I can. Warm Regards.

Yes, this was purchased in Nigeria(unit still has made in Nigeria label) while some of the parts are made in Japan.
Using Technica ATN3600LC magnetic cartridge.
Definitive Technologies SM45 pair.
Both channels functional A/B modes
- VU ICs was burnt due to a short while I was on it last month. I got this pair of IC recently but still have to replace. Only this part is non functional- audio signal level at this point.
I am in Gurgaon.. surely I will look forward to your suggestions in this endeavor

In future, I will plan to upgrade to the better magnetic cartridge.
Thanks.
