I'm really not much of a fan of live albums, but this is an exception. Blasting "Coming Back To Life" right now and it just transports you.

I too have heard about the red LED light, but I've not seen it personally.

guys, sorry if i have missed this. what is this album and what group?

That's an awesome song. I've heard it a couple of times as part of our sound-check in an open air arena, played through line arrays. I don't think I'd be able to explain the experience properly, but I've never heard recorded music sound any better. It has since been my reference aural experience.

guess you must be in the music industry grubyhalo. which part of india. what sort of shows do you do

Not really. I was doing a bit of this and that for a music company which included a lot of live shows, mostly rock. This was about 6-7 years ago...

Hi Guys,

Can anyone give some inputs on MJ's ''Invincible' album. In spite of selling 8-10 million copies this is regarded as MJ's flop album! I found one interesting thread on another forum where the posters say it is one of the most under rated albums. one poster went like this.......

''what i found most interesting about invincible is that the selection of the songs had a different criterion - what he wanted to say to the world, to his children, to himself and other loved ones rather than wanting to put out a number one smashing album and that is why i believe is important and has a unique quality to it

sometimes is important to do things that make you feel alright rather than trying to get everybody to like what you are doing

and what is most important is that he did that without sacrificing the quality of music
alright it wasn't revolutionary sound-wise but it had soul.''

Anyone?

cheers,
sri

It's a great album as with other MJ albums. Anything MJ created was way better than most of the crap that is churned out today. The only reason it flopped was it was not mainstream enough. The era of pop/soft rock had passed and gangsta rap/hip-hop was ruling the roost when Invincible came out, that's why it flopped. Just the track "You Rock My World" is worth the price of the CD, a gem of a track that will get your feet tapping.

BTW I would say flopped is a wrong word for anyone selling 8-10 million copies. Other successful artists sell at the most 1-2 million and are called successful.

Possibly due to MJ's allegation of Sony Music chairman for conspiring against black artists.

Excerpts: "Jackson didn't address any aspects of racism, and he limited his remarks to his troubles with Sony, which he claimed had tried to destroy what was to have been his comeback album, Invincible, by failing to promote it."

FWIW, I find Invincible a great album and count it amongst one of MJ's best among my collection of his releases.

Cheers.
