Thanks for pointing it out. My wife was in fact insisting it's a copy of a song she had heard it but I myself could not place it when I was listening to it in the morning. There are other songs too copied by her in fact the song Jimmy Jimmy from Disco Dancer was very easy to place.

if u check the inlay inside cover, she seems to have acknowledged credit wherever due.... which is actually a lot more.

Have been listening to some Dire Straits too all of this week. Albums (in order of pref)
1) LOVE OVER GOLD- Fantastic
2) DIRE straits (Self titled) Almost as good
3)Brothers in Arms - Very good
4)On every Street- Good

Well at least we agree on Dire Straits is great even if we do not agree on the album order. I would go in reverse order at least for the last 2 albums you've listed.

Hahaha.
I like almost everything that M K dishes out. Moser u prefer On every street to Brothers in arms ? Hmmmm what about LOve over gold? Just the first two tracks (telegraph road & Private Investigations) are enough to set me up for the day.

I love everything by MK too. Just that with repeated listening I've found On Every Street to be the best of the lot. I love Heavy Fuel but what really hits me is the gentle guitar plucking on the track On Every Street. It just transports me to playing a virtual guitar each and every time. The strumming on Money For Nothing too is just great and love that album too, but just prefer the mellower On Every Street more.

top 10 voices

i think i have a problem. i've got more than 10 in my top 10 voices.....

i must add - pretty poor recording. not the quality of the recording but the sound mixing. the sound engineer needs to be shot (even taking into consideration that its live music). many a time the sound engineer makes or breaks an album. mark knopflers sound engineers have it spot on

Love Over Gold is certainly tops - no q. I would probably just invert the ranking order for 2 & 3, but it would be a close run thing. In my book, Making Movies is better than On every Street.

Just to add to this, my standout tracks in each of these albums woud be
1) LOVE OVER GOLD - Private Investigations (IMO, its the best song MK has managed in his entire career) followed by Telegraph Road
2) DIRE straits (Self titled) - Water of Love followed by SoS
3)Brothers in Arms - Your latest Trick followed by MFN
4)Making Movies - R & J followed by Les Boys
5)On every Street - On every Street followed by My Parties

Let the disagreements begin .......
