I enjoyed her music thoroughly, very sad news - difficult life and untimely death. The other Irish singer I loved was Dolores O'Riordan of Cranberries, who unfortunately left us as well.

RIP. Amongst others, her SNL statement will always be remembered as one of the iconic moments in pop culture.

The first time I heard her was rendering the song Mother in the 'The Wall - Live in Berlin' show. Great singer. At 56, too young to depart...RIP. I think one of her sons had died last year.

A sad example of how bad parenting and childhood trauma can shatter an otherwise gifted human being. So much talent, but such a painful life she lived.

May she rest in peace, finally.
