Hey folks,
I brought my Yamaha TSR‑7850 AV Receiver from the U.S. in 2023 (originally bought in 2018) and haven't set it up yet, but now i'm planning to setup and use in India. Specs: 120 V, 400 W, 60 Hz. Indian mains: 220–240 V, 50 Hz.
I’m considering a step-down transformer
( Axvolt Crysta 1000 W (220 V → 110–120 V)) but I’m worried about the frequency mismatch. The Yamaha manual says 60 Hz, and it seems to have a transformer-based internal power supply.
Questions:
Any advice or experiences would be amazing. Thanks!
Note: I'll be using Harman Kardon HKTS 16 in my setup if that matters.

Questions:
- Can I safely run it on 50 Hz with a step-down transformer, or will it overheat/damage the receiver?
- Has anyone successfully run a U.S. 60 Hz Yamaha AV receiver in a 50 Hz country?
- If not, are there affordable 50 Hz → 60 Hz converters (~400 W) that actually work for AV gear?
Any advice or experiences would be amazing. Thanks!
