MAX HD test started in Tata Sky along with Star Movies HD and Star Gold HD :clapping: :yahoo:

I think the time to switch to Tata sky HD is near. I have been smart to extend my DishTV HD subscription on a month-to-month basis since my annual subscription expired February this year :)

just based on the PICTURE QUALITY, which connection do u think is the best ??? is it DIST TV HD, BIG TV HD, RELIANCE HD, SUN HD or TATA SKY HD ????

am in a dilemma, coz some guys in some other posts in the forum say that TATA SKY HD is the worst....
ur opinion ???

I have not seen Reliance HD and Sun HD so I cant compare. Accroding to me for the best PQ HD and SD channels

1) Reliance BIG TV (Have seen SD Box)
2) Sun Direct (Have seen SD Box)
3) Airtel (Have seen SD & HD Box)
4) Tata Sky(Have seen SD & HD Box)
5) D2H (Have seen SD & HD Box)
6) Dish TV (Have seen SD & HD Box)

P.S: This are my personal opinions. And honestly speaking Reliance Digital TV has the best PQ among all DTH's if u can live with the Horrible and Horrendous Logo of it.

Jignesh bhai, Dish TV SD is overall better than current TS SD. Also, while TS has DD5.1, Dish TV has far superior HD PQ as I have compared.

BTW, when will we get these channels as I don't see them yet.

That's what I said its my opinion. For me Dish TV has the worst quality among all DTH.

Did you try Dish HD recently? Several SD channels on it has bit better PQ and Sound in HiFi Stereo when TS broadcast them in LoFi Intensity Stereo (Practically Mono). Also, REAL HD channels have atleast 25% better PQ then TS.

Anyway, do you know when will TS broadcast Star Gold HD and Star Movies HD?

I am more concerned about the TS SD SQ which should be similar across all their boxes and that bothers me most as there is a day and night difference between Dish TV and TS (I use digital output on both). HD channel's sound is usually better on TS (other than pseudo DD5.1 on Star Cricket HD, Discovery HD and now MAX HD where they merge LR sound to center and reduce the ambient sound/music when a narration is happening and they keep panning narration from all speakers to center during the start of conversation - such issue do not occur on 2.0 in Dish HD).

Thanks for that link, however it still doesn't talk of launch date which suggest it may take several months for TS to actually broadcast those channels.

Thanks a TON for the update Jignesh bhai! I don't understand why are they bothering about launching HD channel of Star One. There is hardly anything to watch on it these days including Star Plus.

Instead, they should have thought of launching Star World in HD.

Also, they should upgrade infrastructure of ESPN and Star Sports to launch in FULL TIME HD.

Of all their channels, it is only 'Star World HD' that I have any interest. Why in the world is Star World not worthy of HD? This inpsite of the fact that 'Star World HD" already exists and is broadcast for parts of Asia.

PS: I noticed on 'Star World' yesterday, that the show 'Kofee with Karan' is now being shot in HD, the clue being the 16:9 aspect ratio. Thus, it seems that 'Star World' is atleast preparing to shift to 'Star World HD'. But then why is it not listed as one of the channels by Star, to be launched in HD on April 18th is strange.

if they launched starworld in HD instead of star one, it would have made my day as it is my fav channel.Star plus in HD should be enough for the womensfolk now
