I have a BOSE AM6 paired up with Yamaha RX-371 and the blu-ray player is LG-BDP620.On the player in the audio output i have chosen as "Bit-Stream"(Other options were 'PCM' Streo,PCM MultiChannel,DTS-Re-encode). Only if i choose as "Bit-Stream" on the Yamaha receiver the audio signal is showing up as "DTS-Master HD","Dolby-True HD" etc and the no of inputs the receiver receiving is showing as "3/3/0.1"(it should usually be 3/2/0.1). If i choose "DTS-Re-encode it is always "DTS" and 3/2/0.1. If i choose PCM then it is always PCM in the receiver and 2/0/0. So i have left the setting at "Bit-Stream" and let the receiver decode it. Is this correct? Further under this setting the movie viweing is good but am not getting much out of the rear speakers..ofcourse the background sounds are coming but during rest of times it is very feable. Is this normal?(i am assuming at most dialogue sections of movie the rear speakers are not much use) and the Bose subwoofer i feel is not creating good base sound. More of thump/deep bass.I felt my old Phlips HT did better. Do i need to do any setting adjustment? Further only if audio is recognized as PCM Yamaha is allowing me to change "Surrond-Decode" functionality(which has various setting like Pro-Logic:Music/Movie etc)..i feel like i am missing something..any help?
