Yes even I have indefinitely postponed my decision to switch to a new AVR. You could still enjoy TruHD sound through a BR Player having 5.1 analog output on your AVR.

This is not possible with current AVRs(entry level)as they dont have 5.1 analoge in.

Yeah, i don't have Analog 5.1 Input in my AVR (Yamaha 367) but that doesn't matter at all.

I just realized that you should be using decoded 5.1 PCM audio through HDMI on your AVR and your AVR already have good DAC to have high quality lossless 5.1 sound. Mild difference in SQ and power in higher end models should not bother you as your Sony BR player should do the job of decoding DTS MA, etc.
