I stay in Hyderabad. I am in need of Silk Dome Tweeters 1" with 150W. Does anybody have any idea, where can it buy it in Hyd? and aprox Price?

Lemme check at my place today, i have technics tweeters........ bought them as i have DOD equalizer 8300 II which is notorious for blowing tweeters.......had them as a back up........ just in case.........as i'm more of treble and bass guy ;-)

Hi friends,

Yesterday I had checked at Gujarati galli, Koti, and found 1 shop selling good Tweeter of 1" with double magnet which can handle 80W-Max. Name of the shop is Modern Electronics and price is Rs.200/- per pc. and I found it very reasonable.

Does it sounds harsh shiva,if ur satisfied by its performance then its ok,u said ur looking for 150 watts tweeter.

You can order from madisound. their international shipping rates are quite reasonable. You wont be paying customs as you can easily get one that costs less than 10k. Atleast you will be getting a qualty product along with ts parameters.
if buy locally, you wont be getting the ts params (unless u get them measured). the end result will be a lousy speaker with some random woofer and random tweeter strapped in some cabinet without any design whatsoever. you can forget about a flat frequency response and god knows how you are going to design a crossover.

Gali wale tweeters may not be any good use , here so called PHILIPS written and some zapp silk domes are available ..
but u can experiment 200Rs

remember silk domes need more power most of the time
so matching may be critical

I have Technics (Horn Tweeters) EAS - 7HH02S, Japan, donno know how to check whether they are working or not as i haven't used dem for the past 5- 6 yrs.

dear Shiva,

all the soft dome 1" tweeters available in the vast hinterland of india (bolton, dainty, and ?peerless india, all are three-fourth inch i think)) have a max. top rating 0f 50-60W.

but see this

Please check with Dilip Bajaj of DNM Enterprise, Mumbai. He was having some 50 odd Mission Silk Dome tweeters with him some time ago. Call him @ 9820064528

Yes, thats what worries me. My HTS power output is 143W per channel. And, I think I have to add at least 1.5MFD capacitor to get good and sharp treble. So, I think I can use these tweeters, but still I did not buy them and based on you peoples suggestions, I will go for them.

I have a pair of XT25TG30, not silk domes but are very good ring radiators. They are brand new box packed. Lemme know if you are interested.
