Dear Members,

I need your help.

My setup: Samsung LCD TV, Denon 2113 AVR, Hathway STB, Polk Audio 5 channel speakers

Hathway STB is connected with component video to Denon AVR. Denon Video Ouput to LCD TV with HDMI cable.

Issue:
None of the Start TV channels work when STB is connected via AVR. If I connect STB directly to the TV using component video all channels work properly. When I switch to Star Movies or Star Sports I get a message that the STB is unable to receive signal which I dont get it when STB is directly connected to the TV.

Any suggestions or advice?

Thank you,
Vijay

does Hathway have a HD set top box? suggest to get one with HDMI which removes the need for component video. AVR2113 should support analog to HDMI upconversion.

Does your AVR support upconversion of analog signal to HDMI?

I am assuming it does because it shows HBO and other movie channels perfectly well.

@Aakashr
Hathway has HD STB. But my local cable guy is not enthusiastic to provide one. I have been asking him for multiple times, he just says its too expensive or dont buy now etc. That apart, do you think direct HDMI should solve this issue? What could be the root cause for only few channels being blocked when connected via AVR?
