I have developed an interest of reading thru this forum and unlearning many things.. Wanted to buy an Subwoofer. Initally was looking @ Sonodyne Roarr series. I wanted to get one but couldn't audition them as there was no listening room nor a dealer in chennai for a long time. Accidentally i went thru the contact details of the Sonodyne webiste, to my surprise found a dealer listed in Chennai. Address below..

Today i went to the showroom looking for roarr 2815. unfortunately was not aval. However i auditioned Sonodyne Sonus 2605 V2 Floorstanders + Sonus rears dipole speakers. It was amazing. Sound was open, well spread & superb bass. I think if u get this kind of a Floor Stander, u don't need an Subwoofer.

Mr. Praveen said that the roarr 2815 has been discontinued by Sonodyne, however the other two models roarr 210, 108 along with SLF 200 would be aval with him in the next week. I will audition them & give an update.

The price he quoted was 26K. He was ready to offer a discount and 24K is what he said.

Config : 3 Way Speaker, Continuous power handling is 130 RMS. It looks very tall & elegant with the speaker grille. A must audition indeed...

Yeah you are right. Sub is a must when u watch movies. Infact the Sonodyne was kicking lot of bass which i was not expecting. It was not boomy. It was neat & tight..

Hi i am babloo and stay in chennai.I am also looking for a good Home Theatre Speakers for my Yamaha 465 Receiver.How is the sonodyne show room ?Do they have live demo for all the products in Home Theatre segment shown in the website of SONODYNE?as most of the dealers do not have stock and don't give a proper Response and try to push what they have in stock.

Mr. Praveen is quite knowledgeable & has approx 150Sqft of space for Demo. He has all the Sonodyne Home Audio Products ( Sonus FS, Dipole surrounds, Subwoofers SLF200A, All the models of Roarr series). I would say it is a worth auditioning.. and more importantly it gels very well with Yamaha receivers... Audition it & give your feedback...

Hi, Iam new to this forum. I am badly looking for a good active subwoofer. I have short listed Sonodyne Roarr 210 & Wharfedale GX10. Wharf is little expensive. Iam considering Roarr210. Any one is owning this sub? How is the performance wiht movies? I auditioned the same in their Bangalore office, it was not so good. Kindly help me in deciding whcih to buy?

Proper tuning of roar 210 is required. I own one and it is very good for movies.For music you don't require sub with 2605v2 FLS, unless you are a bass freak.
Put your av receiver to 110hz and cut off of the sub to max.Then feel the sub pounding at half the volume.My sub sounds much better after my own setting, than during my audition at Sonodyne listening room.
At this price no SUB can beat it.Go for it if you cannot shell out more.

But, SLF 200 should definitely be better.It was not available during the month of JAN'11.

I have been using the Sonodyne sonus 2605 old version for more than 6 years now and am quite happy with the performance. You need a sub for movies if you are watching something with a lot of action- war scenes, sci-fi, adventure etc. For normal hindi/regional movies or drama i feel you are better off without a sub as i find the voice too bass-y then...I am using a kenwood sub as you can see from my signature- which is quite sufficient for movies and techno/trance music.

I had auditioned the sonodyne roar series sub some time back, don't remember the model # though and it sounded quite good - not as good as some klipsch and polk woofers available at that time but - price-to-sound value was very good.

Hi, any one using Sonodyne Roarr 2815 subwoofer, how is the performance for movies and music. I have auditioned the same along with 210. This time it was a good experience inspite of not having 5.1 setup. But it was OK. But again confused either 2815 or 210. Please give your valuable experience with these subs.

Definitely 210.Better if you can get SLF(studio series) subwoofer.

Hi folks, after doing all my research i bought a ROARR 2815 Sub. It sounded good with the RCA cables supplied with the set. Later i changed the cable to QED Performance with QED YSW. The Effect is mind blowing. Thanks Folks.

is it so? but i have when ever i have tried to contact i have got a reply in the office or some time if mr.praveen is not available on mobile he calls back after some time.but friend it not that they never attend phone calls.
