No one is stopping anyone here to buy and embrace it. Pls go & do it.
I happen to see the BOM for this vry model & the full manufacture ended up just under 6.5k hence my comments. And for the asking 18k kinda money, am sure there's other options that are better.
The Roarr IMO is nothing but an overdamped box sub thats totally one-note sounding & does not meet sub standards in any form.
I think if 6.5K is just the material cost, still 18K retail price is not a surprise.
R & D , Manufacture and Retailer profit when added, I think the final price is normal. Everything we purchase, we might be paying 3-4 times of its material cost, that is what I think.
And Manu confirms the latest product sound better than prevouis year model. So R & D and product improvement is there.

Just because you were not convinced you can't say it is crap... Mind you Sonodyne has 40 years of experience in making speakers, juz like other reputed foreign brands have...
I am not sure if you can find a product that can beat the roarr 210 for 18K.

thats excellent but following all your posts & the questions you're asking, audio Engineers like you as per your claim do not ask these questions.
Genelecs at 1.5 lacs are very ordinary basic 2-way monitors that can be regularly seen in semi-decent studios barring the 3-way ones like 1037C & 1038B that are much more costly (and they're not gold or diamond either ..... :lol

By now you should know that a half decent sub do not and cannot come cheap. Those that do are rubbish. So one has to step up the budget or settle for trash.

pal, you are asking questions that you shouldnt being an audio engineer that you claim.
look at brands that has some strong experience in subs and their entry level ones MAY satisfy your need.
BTW - dont go and try to match to your Genelecs in your studio. Its the biggest crime you can make; for that look at BagEnd subs they give you what you want. Just make sure your walls are thick enuf

if i recall in the thread that i pointed to, there was a word going that Hari could work around and build a decent sub for decent money.
working around him should get something useful going as he should be able to deliver something more professional that sonodyne.
this is my personal opinion.

Comparing with roarr 210, within 30K, I found only Polk 660i to be better in movies.But that is double the amount.Remaining subs couldn't come even close.

sir, i have never said "am knowledgeable". there are many more here who possess that on this forum. but have only said that an Indian company that holds bags of goodwill amazed me when i gotta see thru some ppl linked with the company as to what they put in and what they charge for it.
apparently for voicing this loud here, i get to be the "bad guy" and thats the mindset of ppl we have on this forum which is just :sad: and too bad.
earlier in my posts, i've said a decent sub doesnt come cheap. Bass is expensive if you want it harmonically in tune, tight, sufficient spl & the type that goes low so its no point beating abt it. you pay only for what you get. there are audio engineers floating around here but like you, i use my ears to judge. For 18k, i wouldnt buy the sonodyne. I would pay maybe 10k more & buy better.

So you will pay around 30K to buy a decent sub. Letz assume you buy from XYZ brand, would you be able to findout how much other companies spend for procuring the components.
An other point buddy...When comparing any product that is made in India to a foreign product, you will have to compare them with atleast twice the price in India......

sonodyne is launching slf 312 a 12inch subwoofer.any one heard about this.

Yup.. I heard long back almost a year ago...But never heard them...
It is 12 inches sub with 300 Watt amplifier. You can say elder brother to SLF 210.

this is purely my own experience I am not an expert.
maximum output of sonodyne roarr 210 is in the range of 44 to 55hz.when watching movies it goes down to 35 but the spl is low.for music its around 40hz and there is a big roll off.Sonodyne specs says it will reach 29hz at -10db.but I dont think it goes down to 29 with proper out put in a room.please give your experiences.

I have not heard sonodyne sub but the spec says it all. Don't look at the frequency limit at -10dB. It means that the SPL will be 10 db lower than other flat frequency response line on the frequency response curve. Limit at-3dB is more realistic. This applies to all speakers in general. If you go by the limit at -10db, you will hear thatt 29Hz well if all other speakers are shut off and sub is cranked up but start all speakers, even at low volume and that audible 29Hz will be lost.
