Hi all,

towards the end of the 9th track of Devdas OST (Devdas Last Journey-the theme), there is the sudden sharp crack of a horse-whip followed by a few more.

is there a vocalist initiating the sound of the whip in the subsequent lashes-
and how is this sound produced in the studio?.

dying to know - would like your take on the description of the sound in detail

a million TIA

maybe music director is controlling the people singing and playing music. I have seen sticks in hands of music conductors, but whip should be equally effective.

Pardon my ignorance. But is there any reason why an actual whip could not have been used in the recording studio within listening distance of a microphone?

that exactly-

want to know what people who have heard that whip lash, think-

was that a real whip or the synthesized sound of one?

it appears synthesized to me
