sound of the whip in OST of DEVDAS

Hi all,

towards the end of the 9th track of Devdas OST (Devdas Last Journey-the theme), there is the sudden sharp crack of a horse-whip followed by a few more.

is there a vocalist initiating the sound of the whip in the subsequent lashes-
and how is this sound produced in the studio?.

Maybe its just a sound loop which is mixed into the track

maybe music director is controlling the people singing and playing music. I have seen sticks in hands of music conductors, but whip should be equally effective.

Pardon my ignorance. But is there any reason why an actual whip could not have been used in the recording studio within listening distance of a microphone?

or recorded separately and played on a laptop or mixed later out of recording studio

since this is a hindi recording, I guess it would be gaa B**c**d instead of sing you B**sta*ds!!
