Can somebody suggest a good soundcard, which would have a considerable difference(in a good way
)to my MacBook Pro's sound? Its a late 2011 model, which I believe has a Cirrus Logic chipset. Since I am a student at the moment in Germany, (back to college, after work!) I am on a stringent budget, of around INR 7k. I have my eyes on Creative x-fi Pro now. Its a 5.1 card, but I read its good on stereo somewhere. I will be connecting these to a pair of Samson Mini Monitors most of the times. Occasionally, to an AKG K450 too(I am not sure, if that headphones would sound better with a card
) I didn't find any DAC too at this price. ODAC is around, 14k here. So is DragonFly 1.2.
CD's are too expensive, (new Coldplay - Ghost Stories is about 16 Euro!, back in India, I remember buying there last album for 450 Rs)so a used CD player(though lots available) is pointless. (atleast when ur not working).
