Sorry, but, what?Oh, Polk audio knock off. I can get real polk's, take out the drivers and send it out. I have suggested that before. Not just polk, infinity, altec, anything. I have a center that I built that way, not just 1, 2 centers that were made that way, very very good speakers.
Cool.

Thank you for the "education". Care to explain the rest of your comment?Well, soft dome and a woofer with a rubber surround = Polk in my book. May be a mis nomer. But among the first manufacturer to use soft dome and a mid sized woofer was Polk. So I guess, I should have said - like polk used to make in the 80's.
Of course after that everyone uses that - kef, B&W, infinity, athena, jamo and many many more.
But the basic idea is, soft domes sound very good with a lot of types of music.
The woofer has to work to a higher frequency in a 2 way. So put in a 6-10" with a rubber surround that has an ability to work to a higher freq - 4-6K. Even if you lose the lows. Cos a sub woofer is to be used with it.
That's all.
Cool.

Any feedback on the GR Research diy kit. Not much review seen from the initial builders.

The soft dome tweeter was invented and patented by William Hecht. It was first introduced in the Fisher XP10 that was the TOTL model from Fisher in 1965. Hecht built these speakers. for Fisher. The company that he later founded, Phasetech, is still very much active. Their PC60 speaker is probably the father of the two way with soft dome tweeter formula.
