Hi,
Iam confusion of selecting the Speakers for the Amp Technics SU-X950 - amp speaker output is 8-16 OHMS,auditioned with Wharfedale 9.6 ( 6 Ohms). Will this combination make any impact on the amp or speaker?

Driving a 6 Ohms speakers will not put much strain on your Technics , But a 4 Ohms speakers will definitely make the Technics hotter . The theory is that less the ohms the more the strain to the amplifier. Some amplifier have the the rating as 4 to 16 ohms and there are few amps like Sunfire which can even drive a 2 ohms speakers.

6 ohms will go with 8ohm amp,but running @ very high volume may cause prob.else OK.

Hello Mate...good decision. I have a SU-A900 MKII and used some singapore speakers called Elite. 4 Ohms towers and sounded good but more than 20% vol, they started clipping. Amp wld turn off so dont recco a 4Ohms unless a reason. Good luck.
