My brother uses Morel speaker system with Denon 1912. But its HT and dosnt sound great for pure music. With 40K budget pls audition Jamo floorstanders. Contact Leo 09342502682 for details. These speakers dont need subs. Ideal for u.

How about B&W BS 685, will that be a good match for Denon-1912. The only problem with BS is you need to spend another 10K just for the stands, and it can't be placed on table tops.

B&W with Denon 1912 .......:sad::confused::annoyed::eek::sos:

I have the 685's and I have tried pairing it with a Denon AVR I have . However its not worth the effort.

IMO in a 20x15 room. look at floorstanders.

If FS remain an option, then I heartily recommend Monitor 9 with 1912. I am driving my M9 (v7) with 1911 and they sing beautifully. Else, explore KEF's Q300 or Mezzo BS. PSBs Image/Imagine series BS are also great alternatives to look at.

I had an audition of Denon-1912 with Monitor 9 and Monitor 7. I feel Monitor 7 is the right matching and audio quality wise. Denon-1912 can handle it seamless, but Monitor 9 I feel needs more power.

I'm planning only BS and stereo setup, and my preference is music. My only worry is will I end -up in buying Stands for these. Can I keep these BS on top of my TV cabinet table having 12ft width. BS can cause some movements only if it rocks at high volumes, other wise it should stay peacefully.

Don't go the half-hearted way with your music. If buying BS, do invest in some solid stands to do justice to them. People keep debating on BS+stands = FS cost but I think that is not the right way to look at the investment in BS stands.

You say your pref is music and want a stereo setup then why are you going for a 5.1 AVR? You should definitely go for a stereo amp + BS. That will give you much superior sound. A 5.1 AVR is good if you are also interested in movies.

Hi Sunder,

I heard Polk-Audio RTi series BS also good with Denon-1912, but it doesn't have 2.5 way only 1.5 way. I think the bass reproduction will be less if it is 1.5 way. Any suggestions on Polk-Audio RTi series.

I posted this on another tread but applies here as well:

If you are looking for stageringly good but inexpense speakers pls try for the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR speakers. These run about $150 usa for a pair and are being noted within the high-end community for exceptionally good entry level high-end sound at this price point.

I purchased a pair, just for fun, and am amazed at how good they sound (and I am a analogue devotee high-ender). They will easily compete with entry level high-end speaker such as the wharfdale 10.1 and psb alpha b1.

As I usually pooh-pooh mid-fi equipment, I have been reluctant to put them out for folks to see.

But have been pointing folks to them who are looking for low cost good sounding systems. Coupled with a Cambridge Audio entry level integrated amp and DAC the overall sound is really good (one of my non-audiophile friends recently acquired system)

You can find reviews of the speaker on the internet. Here's review from a well respected high-end mag. After reading this I had to try a pair.

There is a surround package that includes a center channel and subwoofer for low amounts of money. But I have no knowledge of the performance of the subwoofer. I would recommend the B&W asw 608 subwoofer for a cost effective Surround Sound package.

I like the Tsi 200. Its good with Denon 1912.

I purchased Tsi200 for 14.5K from Profx Bangalore, sale is going on for speakers and AVRs. I really liked the performance of Tsi200, it really suits for my room. High and Low range frequencies are faithfully reproduced. Thanks a lot for all the advices.

I got a question for which did not find the right thread so posting here- i got a Monitor Audio Br6 connected and when playing audio from my laptop i find that i need to put the volume really high to get some decent sound out. The laptop i have supports 5.1 and DTS output, sorry but really a newbie to this so need to know what could be the reason? Is it cause i am playing downloaded content? Will putting a media player help?
