Hi,
I am considering getting a pair of speaker stands for the my B&W 601 speakers as i am changing my existing furniture where these are placed.

Came across these Atlantic-Adjustable-Bookshelf-Black-Speaker-Stand
and wanted to know if anybody had any review or comments on the stands.
Also if they would be right for these kind of speakers.
The speakers themselves weigh around 7kg each.

Or if there are any other suggestion on getting a suitable, reasonably priced
stands in bangalore.

Thanks
Gaurav

This will cost more once tax and shipping is included. There is one guy on Commercial street (have sent u a PM). He makes stands on request. Apparently he makes good stuff (not sure, havent seen for myself).

Gaurav get magma to make you the B&W 600 series stand. That way you should get the best out of that 601. Tell him its similar to my old B&W stand as he had come & taken measurements and made similar for other forum members.
I still have my old 601 and placing it on anything BUT A QUALITY DEDICATED STAND makes the speaker sound BOXY.
Rgds

:clapping: 100% in agreement - thumbs-up ! :clapping:

B&Ws strongly demand a solidly built stand of preferably 24 inch height (but can be 26 inch incase listening seat height is higher than that of the US/UK/European standard at approx. 12").

rule:1 - The heavier the stand, the cleaner the output and less of colouration.
rule:2 - Plz Biwire or else the tweeter will be misaligned with the woofer & will sound rough (more in your face).

+1 to Sound Foundations/Magma. You need to tell him the speaker and he will tell you the appropriate stand.

He ships by GATI and they reached fast and safe.

Thanks 2chFreak dinyaar and pkr for your comments.
I am discussing with Magma on stands.

...but somehow i am unable to come to grips with the opinion that, without a speaker stand a good speaker will sound bad and hence coming to the corollary that a good stand will make a avg/bad speaker sound good.
Although i agree that placement is important for creating good soundstage and image.

Anyways just some my 2paise on the topic :)

ps: at present my speakers rest on a woodern table of non-optimal height and to my un-trainde ears sound great.
