Speaker Stand - My take on DIY

Nice !!!

or get the bars spray painted at fab shop

then they wont be low cost
:)

keiths advice is sound
weighing down the stands is good by changing or adding a granite top plate
but dont do it before changing the bottom plate as well otherwise you'll raise the CG and stability might come down

200Rs at max for a silver spray paint , what u say magma?
full mini almirah with spray paint sell for 1.5k (painting must be cheap)

dude at those prices i shouldsend you all my stuff for paint!
even with courier charges that is cheap

NO decent paint shop in mumbai offers such cheap prices!

Note: here prices arent always exactly proportional
if a mini almari is done for 1.5k it doesnt mean a drawer is done for 100 bucks
its per job abd then surface area
Hence small jobs turn out comparatively more expensive

Congrats demigod, looks really nice. You can strengthen the base by fixing a circular or square 10 mm MS sheet at the bottom, so you are shifting the CG to bottom. Anodize or powdercoat the alumnium sections, that works out very cheap (powdercoating costs approx Rs 250) & looks professional.

Anil

there are ways to do thing for less , as anil told powder coating
is just 250 .
Best is to get it done as a side job , when the fab guy doing a spray
job pay a little and get the bars done,if u order a paint job sure
they will ask more.
I get aluminum drilling done in just 20Rs heheh (20 -30 holes on 4mm).

Nice work! Don't know how your seating/listening arrangements are but may be they can do with some more space between/around them for better imaging and sound stage.
