Speaker suggestios for Marantz/LM1875 Amp

Hello!

I had recently built a Amp based on the LM1875, and have tweaked it now to my liking, had paired them to a pair of Sony bookshelves and then later to the Wharfedale 9.0.
Would now like to get a pair of speakers for this as the Wharf's have been gifted to dad, preferable the cheaper the better (so mainly secondhand)

My dad listens mainly to old Hindi, Ghazals and some karnatic. Currently the Wharf's are paired with a PM5004. The Wharf's were actually got as a stopgap solution, meant to go with my amp later, but dad isn't going to give them up any time soon

So, basically got two options,

1. Get a bigger pair of bookshelves for dad, and then pair 9.0's with my chipamp. What speakers pair well with the PM5004 for his kind of music? (Looking at about 10-15K)

2. Get my self a pair of bookshelves for my chipAmp. While option 1 would be the best, this option will be more viable right now. What are my options for a low powered amp? Have read of the CA S30, the control one and a few others. I would prefer to the second hand route on this. Looking to spend as little as possible!

will be helpful to know more about the spec of your chip amp to make suggestions.... but if the wharfs go with it well, you could get q acoustics 2010 within your budget.. tannoy mercury v1 is also an option... these will be better than control one..

Sorry, I am unable to get the link to start a new thread. hence I am using quick reply field.

I have a TATA sky receiver and also a Reliance Big TV receiver but now, I am not using both. On the otherhand, I ma using a cable connection provided by the local guy. Unfortunately, he has not provided a set top box and the picture quality is poor.
I want to know if TATA sky or Big TV receivers can be used as a "set top box" for local guy's cable connection, so that it would atleast improve the picture quality by boosting the signal.

Hello,

The amp is based on the lm1875, uses one for each channel. Right now all caps are local ones, will replace them with weka ones when I get some free time..

What's the price range of the tannoy v1 and mission mx1?

Sorry.. I am not familiar with diy amplifier technology.

The tannoy v1, q acoustics 2010, mission mx 1 should all be under 15k but you'll have to contact dealers for latest prices. For tannoy, acoustics arts Delhi.
