need advice from knowledgeable members about speaker choice for my HT.
am currently using Onkyo 504 in a 7.1 setup, with polk audio monitor40s as Fronts, CS1 center and 4 RM10s for surround with a DIY 15" 240W powered Dayton sub. will shift them all to my living room to service the new 50VT20D.

am thinking of ordering the Onkyo 609 receiver either from amazon usa or amazon germany. already have a spare Delta 1000watt Voltage converter. so may end up ordering from the usa. actually a couple of my relatives are coming in december, so will pursue about getting the onkyo as personal baggage. then it would be a great deal.

anyways i need advice about the best possible speakers for HT. MEETING THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA.( please dont ask me to go and audition them, if i could do that i wouldnt be asking u.)

1. available for buying online. 2. strictly for movies. 3. the sub is already in place a 15" 240Watt DIY Dayton powered sub(i have 2 of these now)

Price range comparable to wharfdale 10.5 FS, 10CS or CM and 10DFS dipoles for surrounds. these r already available in groupbuy. and i have a dealer of profx available within 20km. so the choice will have to be from among the products from profx ie. polk or kef q series. Budget upto 100K.

Why not look at diy-there are come excellent options out there..

where are these options? diy would have been my first choice, but where are the kits in india? i dont know of any good drivers being sold here?

i will have to get them from abroad . tried to buy the kits in the group buy individually but shipping costs come to more than the cost of the kits

do let me know if u know of any good kits around.

Yes you have to get the drivers from overseas, unless it is possible to design a system around the Peerless drivers available in Bombay. I built the Audax HT speaker system using Audax drivers, and am very satisfied with the results-in my view as good if not better than many of the high end speakers sold with lables. I initially have only built the front 3 channels, and will look at something for the rear speakers-have a makeshift pair for now, waiting to be wired up.

i am comfortable with building speakers,(rather getting them built with my electrician & carpenter whom i have trained) . i built my first speakers more than
30 yrs. ago using Bolton speaker drivers. i was young then and ok with designing the crossovers and the cabinets. now i cant afford the time for all that work. if i can get hold of well proven complete designs, i can then go the diy way. do you ave any designs?
