Speakers for Marantz MCR 611

Hi,

Just bought Marantz 611 CD reciever system. Looking for speakers to pair this with. Any suggestions? This will be a bedroom system. So small bookshelf speakers may be appropriate.

A few speakers that comes to my mind is Tannoy Mercury 1, Dali Zenzor 1, Wharfedale 220, Accoustic Energy ..looking for good sound.....Please give your suggestions or comments...
 
Thanks Nipun, are the speakers warm or forward and hows the bass... does it go low enough.. Any comparisons with Tannoy Mercury?

Hows Q Acoustics -read good reviews. Was considering Q 2020i.

How much does 3020 cost. Also would you have contact/ address of Q acoustics dealer in Mumbai... Would like to audition these
 
Are you going to put them on stands or looking to wall mount? Dali Zensor 1 are excellent for wall mounting. Have a pair wall mounted in my bedroom with a Marantz M-CR503. I had looked specifically for wall mountable bookshelves.
Had compared only with PSB when auditioning. Can't remember the model.
Haven't heard Q Acoustics.
 
The system is for bedroom. would not have space for separate stands. So would be on table be table or wall mount. However, wall mount may be an issue with rear ported speakers.. I guess...

I auditioned Dali Zensor I and Tannoy 7.1...but under different conditions (different showrooms). Liked both the sound .. though lower end was weak ( I guess limitations of small speakers).. Dali seemed tad brighter... Tannoy sounded better..though lacked lower end ( my impression was Tannoy is brighter) but it was in a room with acoustic treatment...

Will audition Q acoustics tomorrow.. Am somewhat confused...Do you find Dali fatiguing..... Hows Tannoy...in case anyone has heard these speakers..

Look for Usher S520 as well, great speakers for the money. Dali Zensor 1 is a safe choice, they go well with Marantz and they do produce good amount of bass considering their size.
 
Anyone heard Q Acoustics concept 20.. hows the sound ...and bass. are they very different from 3020.

Heard 3020 today.. didnt seem to go as low as Dali Zensor 1 and 3 ...but may have been issue with the set up...
 
I have the concept 20 and to me it sounds fantastic. The bass is adequate and room filling.

But its excellence lies in its midrange. Dont drop it if you find the bass lacking when compared with others. The speaker improves a lot on low frequencies after some run in.

I see you are based out of Mumbai. I stay at Malad.

Concept 20 will appeal to refined ears. It is excellent in producing midrange, very smooth and laid back sound. An issue with them is that you will need to mount on specially designed stands meant for them to get the best out of the speakers, wall mounting I do not think is an option with these because of their deep cabinet design.

If you are willing to go to Zensor 3 then give KEF Q300 a listen.

I insist FM "X Man" audition it before deciding.

Sharper Image, worli and Total Home Theatres, Nariman point carry Q Acoustics.

I have been to Total home theatres and they have good demo room and setup, but never been to sharper image.

Do not audition at stores like "The Shop" at Juhu. They will ruin it for you.

Thanks.. Decided to audition concept 20 tomorrow... at Sharper Image... they dont have a demo room though..like Total Home Theater...

Also plan to hear Tannoy 7.2 tomorrow...
 
couldnt audition concept 20..so am unable to decide..Confused between Dali Zensor 3, Tannoy 7.2 and concept 20.

The Jamos go well with Marantz.
You can also consider small floor standers.
