hi, the thread looks funny, but i lost one pair of speakers(MS10i) due to entry of the rats from port and damaging the rubber surround and pissing on the crossover components, luckly the amp was not damaged due to the protection circuit acted on time.
OK now the story, yesterday i found the rat in my home.
my JBL speakers had a big 4"port hole at the back and it is an easy access for the rat.if it goes inside to hide,it may damage the woofer surrounds and damage the crossover wiring and leads to amp short.
new fun project started to prevent the rats entry in to speakers.cables protection later.
I went to hardware shop and purchased the grill . i took the large openings so it will not obstruct the air movement.
opened the speakers,suitable size of the grill was cut and placed on the port hole as shown in the picture and pressed against the port to form the shape and used the masking tape to keep in position.
now the grill will act as a barrier.
i can do it outside but done on inside.
there is no effect on sound quality.
finally :lol::lol::lol::lol:funny project

Nothing funny as far as I am concerned. It is serious business.

I have on the jokes thread commented just about this. At least you have a better sense of humour than me!!! :)
