Stand By Me...

There is a beggar in Madurai who looks and sounds very similar. Everyday evening he comes to the street near the rly station where all the lodges are present, sets up a mike sits down and sings in the most soulful voice, tapping on a kanjeera, till late upto midnight. Authentic Tamil "blues" without imitating any American music.

These people have more soul in their music than most mainstream artists. :)

There are lots of beggars travelling on train who are capable of real soulful music - although I have heard very few original compositions:) Most sing film music (old melodies) or devotional songs.
