Its a start atleast... maybe one or 2 programmes in HD for beginners. I'm least interested in watching Star Plus anyways, but if it drives technology forward, then its nice.
But upscaling everything and calling it HD is lame.

It's not 16:9, and it's not HD. It's just one of those scams.
Please watch Blu rays if you really want to enjoy HD........HD DTH in India is hopeless till now and moreover they are cheating customers by broadcasting upscaled channels as HD Channels.........
The channel with the greatest HD potential is FTV

This is a happy day for no one. We ought to be moaning about how, from an honest stance of supplying only genuine HD channels, Tata-Sky have moved to the opposite position and joined the ranks of crooks like Sun and Dish who upscale channels and dump the HD tag on them.
Congratulations, Tata-Sky - I won't be paying you a single paisa for this bogus HD channel.

I have watched NG HD on my friends 46" Sony LCD/DishTv and I really liked it. How does one differentiate between upscaled and the actual 1080i ? (My friend went so far as to say that he does not find any difference between his BD and NG HD, but then, both of us know next to nothing as far a AV is concerned)
Is Reliance BigTV's NG upscaled too ?

When only 2 Genuine HD channels (NGC HD & Discovery HD) are der what can TS do? All DTH's are dong the same , in one word cheating

BIG TV too has Star Plus Upscaled
Sun has Colors and Sun TV upscaled

What stops them from adding more HD channels, is it liscense or cost or technology or demand? It is sad that such a large economy gets everything late like 3G and HD telecast. In the US there are over 175 HD channels. Here its only two...

I think India is still not ready for HD, ppl are now adapting so called HD. I & B is such a piece of waste. I think we still need to wait a year or more for HD channels
Buy from India's official online dealer!
