Stereo Speakers for Rs 50000-60000

Good to know that you liked Synchrony 2B and you have described them exactly as they sound. You can also take a demo of 1B for the reference sake and there you will find Mids and Lows better than the 2B but this also comes at a premium of 30K.
Keeping the amp in mind Lakozy also has Arcam with them so you could take your pick by auditioning both the amps side by side.

Alright friends...

After taking in everyone's suggestions, and doing my own research i have compliled this list of Book Shelf Speakers that i'm going to Audition......

1. Audio Engine A5 - ( I'm really worried/scared that i or someone in my house will accidently make a hole in the naked speaker cone.)
2. Q Acoustics 2020
3. B&W 685
4. Epoz Aktimate Mini
5. PSB Alpha B1 & PSB - Synchrony Two B
6. Dali Lektor 1 & 2
7. Focal 706V
8. Epos M12i
9. Paradigm Atom Monitor
10. Paradigm Studio 10
11. Usher S520, x - 718
12. Dynaudio DM 2/6 & 2/7 & Excite X12
13. Wharfedale Daimond 10.1
14. Mordaunt Short Aviano 1 & 2
15. Mordaunt Short Mezzo 1 & 2
16. Dali ikon 2
17. Kef iQ 30
18. Rega RS1
19. Monitor Audio BR2 & RS1 & RX1
20. Quad 11L2 & 12L2
21. Polk Lsi, Rti, Tsi
22. Klipsh RB-61, RB-81

Should i add anymore... ? Did i miss any good ones...??

Now here is thought in my mind.... I do realise that when i go to audition these they will all be set up with different Amps which will make it kind of difficult to really know how a pair of speaker would have performed with another Amplifier.

1. What's a way around this problem ?

2. Do generally demo room people keep matching Amps for the corresponding Speakers ?

3. Or is it better that i first decide on a Amplifier and then buy one and then carry that amp to different demo rooms so that i can have a uniform judgement ?

4. But then is there any one Stereo Amlifier which will suit a variety of different Speakers ?

Whats say guys....???
You have got a lot of patience! Best of luck for your search and thanks for sharing the experience :-)

Demo Day 3

13. Quad 12L2 + Quad Elite Series Amp

Beautiful sound.... Crisp & Clean. I found the treble to be slightly high... maybe bright but i guess that can be controlled.
It had a beaituful tight & deep & smooth Bass.
I also found them to be very musical but again the treble was too crispy...!! If that is even right english.... ;-)

All in all they were wonderful speakers which i feel had a very non-fatiguing & melodious sound which can be heard for hours coz they were so smooth.

But these speakers really "Confused" me....!!

I'd couldn't figure out whether.... "I loved them a lot" or whether "I didn't like them at all"

It's very difficult to expain. But i'm adding them to my Top 5 final re-demo list.

I read somewhere that these speakers are mainly for Jazz, Instrumental, Blues, Vocal etc. Is that true ??

Can they make me happy with my preffered choice of "Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, Dance, House, Trance, Techno"....???

14. Wharfedale 10.1 + Quad Elite Series Amp

What can i say about these....? They were just perfect. A very clean & smooth sound. They had everything. A good blend of Highs, Mids and suprising Lows for their size...!! No wonder they have won so many awards and have rave reviews all over the world. i guess at their price point anyone could actually buy these speakers without having to audition them.... But i guess you must.

I'll be considering a Wharfedale 10.1 5.1 Setup vs. a PSB Alpha B1 5.1 Setup upgrade for my HT requirements once i'm done doing the stereo setup.

So at this point in time the Top Picks & Most Probable Buys are....

1. PSB Synchrony Two B
2. Mezzo 1 or Mezzo 2
3. Quad 12L2
4. PSB Image B6
5. Wharfadale 10.1 ( I actually might just get a pair and put it in my little bro's room as a Birthday gift...!! )

More to follow...

Wharfedale Diamond 10 Series are too good to resist for the Price they offer. Go up the line to 10.6 and 10.7, you will love them!

I don't think that there is a dealer of PSB in Hyderabad, but if you ever plan of travelling to Mumbai or Delhi then you could audition the same at our shoowroom. Synchrony One retails at 2.35 Lacs.

Can you pls tell me the price of Wharfdale 10.1 BS & how does it compare it to 9.2?

Crn12 ,

Your location says bangalore .. So why not drop in to Vector or Total Sounds give them a listen. Every ear is different ... Please audition yourself and price you can come back discuss in forum where you can get the best...

Just my 2 cents.

Hi,
About Usher S520..
I believe these are available from ARN Systems, somewhere in Rajendra Place, N. Delhi. Please PM our forum member "Odyssey" who is associated with ARN, for exact address confirming audition time.
Regds,

Kittu1977: Well said! however when I went last time they said they dont have the 10.1 BS in stock for a demo, so wanted to get a first impression on the differences b/w them with regards to price & the way they sound. End of the day as you mentioned it boils down to how I feel.

Demo Day 4

Today i heard out these speakers in my quest to find the stereo pair i'm looking for...

15. Dali lektor 2 + Nad 326

Sound ok.... didnt excite me at all... bass was thin and was a bit muddy.... the overall sound was unclean.

16. Dali Ikon 2 + Nad 326

Again, nothing to write home about... Bass was deep but muddy... the sound was "unexciting". I felt like there was no life in the speakers.

It could have been the amp, maybe the speakers were brand new, or any other reason under the sun... But i was really disappointed.

Maybe i as a individual person didnt like the Dali sound. Never mind...

The 2 speakers that are still etched in my mind for the way that they made me feel are the PSB Synchrony Two B & the MS Mezzo 1.

So at this point in time the Top Picks & Most Probable Buys are....

1. PSB Synchrony Two B
2. Mezzo 1 or Mezzo 2
3. PSB Image B6

The only speakers left now on my list now are...

Usher S520
Epos M12i
Paradigm Studio 10
Kef iQ30

Guys any idea where i can hear them in Delhi...?!?

Thanks

Hi Rana,
For Usher S-520, have you tried contacting as per my suggestion in above post# 73 ?
Regds,

Hi Rana,
If you are successful in finding ARN systems in Delhi, for S-520 audition, you can request them to arrange audition of bigger sibling of S-520, i.e Usher V-601.

You won't find many reviews of it on web... it's even discontinued (as seen on Usher Website). Mr. Sridhar of ARN, told me they can make this available in India.

This model, coming from Usher Stable, must be worth a listen, despite having the "Discontinued" tag (It's reported to have similar sound signature to S-520 but with "louder/bigger" bass)

Regds,

Hi Rana
I did respond to your query on the Usher S520 in Delhi. Meanwhile, the V-601 is also available with us, they are a much larger speaker than the S520 - volume wise and sound wise. They use the same tweeter used in the 6000 series line (just below the high end Dancer series).
The V series is not discontinued, very much a current model

cheers
Sridhar

@ sonosphere

I'm in touch with Sridhar regarding the Usher S520.

@ sud

I sent kei an email regarding Paradigm Speakers.

I have heard that the Polk RTI and LSI series are very good.

If not, then even TSI 400 and above > Wharf 10.4/10.5 in some aspects.

You can get a Harman Kardon stereo or Marantz receiver for like 20-25k. The balance 35-40k you can spend on your FS. You can easily squeeze in a RTi4 from Polk or so.

However, at this price, you should also consider Monitor Audio FS and B&W.

POLK(FS)
RTi A5
LSI15/LSI25

MONITOR AUDIO(BS)
RX1
RX2
BR5

B&W
685 and above
